Hello from the Administrator,

I started this site in an effort to help residents, and Chicagoans discover the Hermosa neighborhood's resources and stories.

My interest is mainly historical, since the Hermosa area has very little new construction, mostly pre-war construction, ancestral roots (my grandfather was married here), and my love for the City of Chicago.

I'm hoping it offers you some insight on your neighborhood that residents may have not been aware of, the house/apartment you live in, and how to go about getting involved to strengthen this longstanding, family-oriented community.

Setting the stage for the future site additions, I am hoping to expand in these areas:

• Architecture

• Historical businesses

• Historical and current residents and community leaders

• Churches and church history: contact me if you have church listings in the area, or would like your church listed

• Neighborhood history from longtime residents: contact me if you have stories you would documented

• Spanish translation/additions: contact me if you would like to volunteer to help bridge the language gap
